WOOD BORER

Wood borers are wood damaging insect that invade and damage structural and furniture wood based on the type and moisture content of the wood. Wood-boring beetles are often referred to by the name of wood borers. Some examples of wood-boring beetles are bostrichid, buprestidae, anobiid and lyctid powderpost beetles.
Wood borer larvae and powder post beetle larvae are pests that can harm structural wood and wood based furniture.

Do’s :

• Wood boring beetles are attracted to the moisture content in the wood, try to keep furniture, door and wooden items dry.
• Remove infected wood to avoid the infestation from spreading to another area.
• If you see powderpost beetles, borer beetles, common furniture beetles, or any other wood-boring beetles or woodworms in your home, you will need to treat your home with an insecticide labeled for wood-boring beetles.
